Nick Farahvashi’s musical journey began in 1984 in Richmond, VA, where he first picked up a guitar at the age of 12. Relocating to the vibrant Tampa Bay area in 1993, he crossed paths with fellow musician Julius Mendoza at the age of 15, sparking a musical friendship that would endure over the years. Together, Nick and Julius navigated through several bands in the Tampa Bay music scene, sharing stages in different musical endeavors. In 2005, their collaborative spirit took a unique turn with the birth of their pet project, curiously named “Aknew.” However, in 2013, Nick took a hiatus from music, stepping away from the scene for nearly a decade.
A serendipitous reunion unfolded in 2021 when Nick, Freddy Ordine, and Reno crossed paths. United by a shared musical vision, Nick was drawn back into the rhythm of music, inspired by the phenomenal sound of Weapons of Anew and the genuine friendships that blossomed in just a few short years.
In 2023, Nick introduced Julius to Freddy and Reno, marking a full-circle moment as he officially joined the group. The seamless transition into the rhythm section of the band reflected years of musical camaraderie with Julius. Since then, Nick has embraced the musical journey with Weapons of Anew, finding harmony in the captivating rhythm of their collective sound. The pieces effortlessly fell into place, and Nick hasn’t looked back since, marking a triumphant return to the music that resonates deep within his soul.
